How to Download Aadhaar Card Online

Aadhaar card is a unique identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) to every resident of India. It is a 12-digit number that contains your demographic and biometric information, such as your name, date of birth, gender, address, photo, fingerprints, and iris scans. It serves as a proof of identity and address for various purposes, such as opening bank accounts, availing subsidies and benefits, filing taxes, applying for loans, etc.

Aadhaar card has many features and benefits that make it a valuable document for every Indian citizen. Some of these are:

  • It is a universal and portable number that can be verified from anywhere in India.

  • It is linked to your biometrics, which makes it more secure and reliable than other forms of identification.

  • It helps in eliminating duplicates and fakes, which results in saving public money and preventing frauds.

  • It enables electronic benefit transfers, which makes it easier and faster for you to receive subsidies and services directly into your bank account.

  • It improves transparency and accountability in service delivery by allowing you to authenticate your identity online.

  • It facilitates inclusion of those who do not have any existing identity documents by providing them an identity through an introducer system.
